Every Toon's Expressions

This fan compilation showcases the full animation set and expressions for every released Toon up to the Squirm update. Watching how each character emotes is the fastest way to learn the roster and spot the Main Characters by their polished models. It also doubles as a visual checklist of who you still need to unlock. Pair the video with the update history to track when each Toon joined the lineup.

The Five Stat Categories

Every Toon is rated from 1 to 5 stars across five categories. Health (shown as 2HP for Main Characters, 3HP for others) determines how many hits you survive. Stamina governs how long you can sprint while kiting Twisteds. Both directly decide whether a Toon survives a chase.

Stealth controls how easily Twisteds notice and target you, making high-Stealth Toons like Astro and Cosmo natural extractors. Skill Check sizes the golden mini-game bar inside Machines, and Extraction Speed sets how fast the dial fills. High Skill Check plus Extraction Speed, like Shelly's 5-star Skill Check, defines the best extractors.

Notable Toons Roster

This table highlights fifteen standout Toons across rarities, their standout stat, and the role they fill in a team. Stats are taken from each Toon's current in-game values, where a 5-star rating marks the best in that category. Use it to pick your next unlock and balance your squad.

Rarities & How Toons Unlock

Toons are organized into rarities that hint at their power and cost. You unlock most of them by spending Ichor at Dyle's Store, but several also gate behind Research on a Twisted or completing another Toon's Mastery. The grid below summarizes each rarity and its typical unlock path, including the seasonal shops run by Ichor and event currencies.

Common Toons

3-star balanced stats, cheap Ichor cost. Poppy, Boxten, Cosmo, and Yatta live here and are great early unlocks.

Uncommon Toons

Specialized stats like Brightney's extraction or Goob's mobility, requiring a bit more Ichor and sometimes Research.

Rare & Main Characters

Only 2HP but one or two 5-star stats. Astro, Pebble, Shelly, Sprout, and Vee form the competitive core.

Holiday & Event Toons

Limited-time mains like Bassie (Easter) and Gourdy (Halloween) bought with seasonal currency from their own stores.

Whichever starter you don't pick (Boxten or Poppy) costs just 250 Ichor with no other requirements, making them the easiest second unlock.

Designations: L, OA, M, and SC

In Dandy's World lore every Toon carries a designation that hints at when they were created. There are 29 known designations total, with 18 confirmed to specific Toons. Understanding them adds flavor to the roster and explains why some characters, like Astro (M-002), behave like veterans. Learn more in the broader character guides.

1

L — Lead

Reserved for the headline Toons like Dandy and Dyle, the faces of the original show.

2

OA — Operational Assistant

Behind-the-scenes support characters that kept Gardenview running during the show's run.

3

M — Main Character

The eight mains such as Astro (M-002), Shelly, and Pebble; the strongest playable Toons with 2HP and 5-star stats.

4

SC — Side Character

The largest group, including Poppy (SC-003) and Cosmo (SC-001), covering most Common and Uncommon Toons.

Designations are lore-only and do not change in-game stats, but they explain relationships and dialogue between Toons.

Mastery & Vintage Skins

Each Toon has a Mastery track of six tasks that reward an exclusive Vintage skin upon completion. Tasks usually combine travel distance, item use, surviving Floors, and Toon-specific challenges like Astro's Nap Time or Poppy's Panic Pop procs. Completing Mastery also unlocks new Toons, such as Looey behind Poppy's Mastery. Browse all cosmetics in our skins guide.

 • Travel tasks (e.g. Poppy 50,000m, Astro 150,000m, Pebble 175,000m) reward consistent play across many runs.
 • Use-and-pick-up tasks, like Cosmo's 35 items or Yatta's 120 items, push you toward support and scavenging playstyles.
 • Survival tasks such as Shelly's 80 Floors or Sprout's 30 Floors with Cosmo encourage team play and long runs.
 • Ability-specific tasks, like Astro's Nap Time uses or Poppy's Panic Pop activations, teach you each Toon's kit.
 • Finishing all six unlocks the Vintage skin and, for some Toons, gates the next character unlock.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How many playable Toons are in Dandy's World?

There are roughly 40 playable Toons spanning Common, Uncommon, Rare, Main Character, and limited Holiday and Event rarities, with new characters added in most updates. See the update history for the latest additions.

What are the five Toon stats?

Every Toon is rated 1-5 stars in Health (2HP for Mains, 3HP otherwise), Stamina, Stealth, Skill Check, and Extraction Speed. These five categories define each character's role and strengths.

How do I unlock new Toons?

Most Toons are bought with Ichor at Dyle's Store, while Holiday and Event Toons need seasonal currency. Many also require Research on a Twisted or completing another Toon's Mastery. Check our Ichor guide for farming tips.

Which Toon should beginners start with?

Poppy is the recommended starter thanks to balanced 3-star stats and Panic Pop, a passive that grants speed after taking a hit, making her forgiving for new players still learning to kite Twisteds.

What are Toon designations L, OA, M, and SC?

They are lore labels indicating creation order: Lead, Operational Assistant, Main Character, and Side Character. Astro is M-002, Poppy is SC-003, and Cosmo is SC-001, but designations don't affect gameplay stats.

What does completing Mastery give you?

Finishing all six Mastery tasks unlocks a Toon's exclusive Vintage skin and, for some characters, gates the next Toon unlock. Mastery tasks include travel, item use, survival, and ability-specific challenges.

What is the difference between Main Character and Holiday Toons?

Main Character Toons like Astro and Vee are available year-round with 2HP and powerful 5-star stats. Holiday Toons such as Bassie (Easter) and Gourdy (Halloween) are limited-time mains bought with seasonal event currency.

Are Holiday and Event Toons permanent unlocks?

Yes, once purchased from their seasonal store they stay in your roster forever, but the shops only open during their events, so you must grab them while available. Skins from those events can also be limited-time.
