It added Toon Waxwell, a sinister prankster candle Toon, Twisted Waxwell with a unique flame-buff mechanic, the Cherished Blanket trinket, the Ignited buff, new stickers and badges, and a batch of five new gothic skins in Dyle's Store headlined by Yatta, Tisha, Looey, Blot, and Waxwell himself.
Waxwell is HERE - Update Showcase
This video showcases everything in the v0.25.1 Waxwell update, from his Ignite ability and star stats to the hunt for the rare Twisted Waxwell across dozens of floors. It also reviews all the new gothic skins in Dyle's Store and ranks each one out of ten.
Watch for first impressions of Twisted Waxwell's flame trail, the in-game sticker wheel updates, and the new Break Room that shipped shortly before this update in the v0.23.1 QOL patch, which gives long runs a safe checkpoint every 25 floors to heal, grab free items, and reset before pushing deeper.
What's New in v0.25.1
The Waxwell update is a content-rich minor drop that touches nearly every system in the game. Beyond the headline Twisted and Toon additions, it introduces a brand-new status effect, a fresh trinket, collectible stickers and badges, and a unified status-effect HUD that makes tracking buffs easier mid-run.
Together these changes reshape how distracting and supporting teammates feels, since Waxwell's flame trail directly accelerates ally cooldowns and the new unified status HUD makes every active buff and debuff visible at a glance during chaotic multi-Twisted floors where tracking effects used to be guesswork.
Toon Waxwell
A new prankster candle Toon with the Ignite ability, high movement and skill check, and low stamina balanced by a permanent Tired debuff.
Twisted Waxwell
A rare Twisted that builds flame over time and, at full flame, leaves a trail granting other Twisteds the Ignited buff for added pressure.
Cherished Blanket
A new trinket added alongside Waxwell, obtainable from his Twisted research track.
Ignited Buff & HUD
A new status effect plus a radial on-screen HUD showing all active status effects on the right side.
Stickers & Badges
New Find Twisted Waxwell and Flames incoming! stickers by Ramblesnake, plus the Extinguished Confidence medal and title.
Waxwell Toon Stats & Ability
Waxwell is a high-skill extractor and kiter whose stat line rewards aggressive play. His five-star Movement Speed and five-star Skill Check make him strong on machines and chases, but his one-star Stamina means you must manage sprint carefully and lean on his Ignite ability to remove the Tired debuff. Pair him with strong trinkets to shore up his weak points.
His Ignite ability also buffs teammates, making him a hybrid extractor-support Toon rather than a pure selfish pick. This unique support angle lets him enable high-impact abilities from Goob, Scraps, and other long-cooldown Toons during the moments your team needs them most.
| Attribute | Value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Movement Speed | 5 stars | Among the fastest Toons in the game |
| Skill Check | 5 stars | Top-tier extraction on every machine type |
| Stamina | 1 star | Very limited sprint, his main weakness |
| Stealth | 2 stars | Below average, easy to detect |
| Extraction Speed | 2 stars | Average completion rate |
| Ability | Ignite | Removes Tired II for 10s, leaves flame trail |
| Cooldown | 60 seconds | Ignite cannot stack and does not affect Waxwell |
| Unlock | Goob mastery | 50% Twisted Waxwell research + 3 Goob Mastery quests |
How to Unlock Waxwell
Waxwell is gated behind Goob, tying his lore to the grabber Toon family. You will need both Twisted Waxwell research and Goob Mastery progress, so plan a mix of long research runs and ability-focused solo runs to knock out the requirements efficiently.
Because Twisted Waxwell is rare, prioritize reaching deep floors where more Twisteds can spawn, and consider the floor-25 Break Room from the v0.23.1 QOL update as a safe checkpoint to heal, restock on free items, and reset stamina before continuing the grind for his research.
Get 50% Twisted Waxwell research
Encounter Twisted Waxwell across runs and collect research capsules. His rare spawn rate means this can take many floors, so stay patient.
Complete 3 Goob Mastery quests

New Skins in Dyle's Store
The Waxwell update shipped a batch of gothic, dark-themed skins now available for 600 Ichor each in Dyle's Store. The five highlighted additions lean into the update's skull, rock, and prankster motifs, fitting Waxwell's sinister prankster vibe while rounding out several Toons' skin collections.
Community first impressions rated the Not Faze Yatta skin highest of the batch at around 9.5 out of 10, with the Villainous Casual Waxwell and Dreary Muse Tisha also earning strong praise for their detail, ripped-pants styling, and cohesive fit with the update's overall dark prankster aesthetic.
Not Faze Yatta
The standout of the batch, featuring Yatta with braces and her signature smile. Widely rated around 9.5 out of 10 by early reviewers.
Villainous Casual Waxwell
Waxwell's own skin with suspender straps and ripped pants, considered by some better than his default look.
Dreary Muse Tisha
A dark Tisha skin with flared, ripped pants praised as one of the better entries in the drop.
Scribbled Prank Looey
Looey covered in marker scribbles including a kick me sign, a playful prankster nod to Waxwell's antics.
Inky Skull Blot
A dark ink-and-skull Blot skin that fits his chaotic personality and matches the gothic update theme.
Twisted Waxwell & The Ignited Buff
Twisted Waxwell is one of the most mechanically distinct Twisteds in Dandy's World. He builds his flame over time and, once at full flame, leaves a trail of fire that grants other Twisteds the Ignited buff, increasing their vision radius and reducing their hit cooldown. This turns him into a force multiplier for the entire Twisted roster rather than a lone threat.
In practice he tends to run around quickly and even flee from players rather than attacking directly, making him feel more like a disruptive mascot who buffs the real dangers on the floor. Players report his spawn rate is low, so encountering him is itself a notable event in long runs.
