Astro Novalite: Stats, Abilities & Strategy - Dandy's World Wiki
A full guide to Astro Novalite, the dream-themed Main Character support in Dandy's World, covering his 5-star Stealth, Nap Time active, and Well Rested passive.
Overview
Astro Novalite (designation M-002) is a Main Character support introduced on June 14, 2024. He trades the 2-Health weakness every Main shares for the highest Stealth in the game and a kit built around keeping teammates running. His Nap Time active restores a chosen Toon's Stamina, while Well Rested acts like a permanent Stamina Candy, making him the backbone of deep-run comps alongside Pebble.
Stats
Astro's spread is unusually well-rounded for a Main Character, with Stealth as the clear standout. That 5-star Stealth is what lets him finish unsafe Machines right under a Twisted's nose and avoid being re-targeted once a chase locks onto someone else. His below-average Extraction Speed is the main reason he plays support over pure extraction, a role better filled by Shelly. Because he lacks a dominant 5-star extraction stat, his value comes from sustain and safe-Machine finishing rather than raw Machine speed.
| Stat | Rating |
|---|---|
| Health | 2 (Main Character) |
| Movement Speed | 3★ |
| Stamina | 3★ |
| Stealth | 5★ |
| Skill Check | 3★ |
| Extraction Speed | 2★ |
Abilities
Astro's two abilities form a self-sufficient stamina engine. Nap Time is one of the strongest team tools in the game for sustain-heavy comps, and Well Rested means he rarely needs Stamina items himself, freeing them up for a chasing distractor. Master the timing of both and your squad will outlast far deeper Floors.
Nap Time (Active, 60s)
Restores Stamina to a targeted teammate. Save it for a distractor mid-kite or an extractor priming a risky Machine, and watch the highlighted Stamina bars from Well Rested to pick the right target.
Well Rested (Passive)
Grants +50% Stamina regeneration, effectively a permanent Stamina Candy, and highlights teammates' Stamina bars, showing exact percentages below 50% so you know who needs Nap Time.
Blackout Glow
Astro emits a blue glow during Blackouts. Use his Vintage, Bedtime Bear, or default skins for a white light radius that cuts through the dark far better than darker skins.
High-Stealth Play
5★ Stealth means Twisteds almost never re-target him once focused on another Toon, letting him complete Machines in unsafe spots without drawing aggro.
How to Play Astro
Astro rewards patient, reactive play over aggression. Lean on your Stealth to take the unsafe Machines nobody else will touch, then spend Nap Time bailing out whoever is currently being chased. His higher Stamina regen also means he can last longer in a kite than most mains if managed well, so do not be afraid to peel a Twisted off a teammate. For general survival fundamentals, pair this with our survival guide.
Camp the unsafe Machines
Use 5★ Stealth to extract Machines near wandering Twisteds that other Toons avoid. As long as a Twisted is fixated on someone else, it will not flip onto Astro unless he is the only viable target.
Track teammate Stamina
Watch the highlighted Stamina bars Well Rested reveals. When a distractor or extractor dips low, hold Nap Time for them rather than spending it on a full-bar Toon.
Skip most Stamina items
Because Well Rested already regenerates Stamina, leave Stamina Candies for teammates early on. Prioritize mobility and extraction items like Extraction Speed Candies and Instructions instead.
Manage your 2 Health
With only 2 HP, prefer Bandages over Health Kits and leave Kits for non-Main teammates. Avoid needless chases, but step in to peel a Twisted off a teammate when you can safely reset line of sight.
Trinkets, Items & Mastery
Astro's kit leaves him flexible on items and trinkets, since Well Rested covers Stamina. Focus survivability and extraction speed instead, and chip away at his Mastery to unlock the Vintage skin. Because his stats are well-rounded rather than specialized, he adapts to whatever your team is missing on a given run. Browse full combos in our best trinkets guide.
- Mobility trinkets help you reposition during Blackouts and chases, since 3★ Movement is only average and Blackouts heavily punish slow repositioning.
- Extraction trinkets like Machine Manual or Blue Bandana offset his 2★ Extraction Speed, turning him into a reliable safe-Machine finisher.
- Item priority is Extraction Speed Candies, Instructions, and mobility boosts; grab Bandages for healing and pass Health Kits to non-Main allies.
- Mastery tasks: Travel 150,000 Meters, Pick up 125 Items, and Use 125 Items to unlock the Vintage Astro skin.
- For Blackouts, run the Vintage, Bedtime Bear, or default skin for the cleanest white light radius, and avoid the Moon Pack Heirloom trinket entirely.
Lore & Personality
Astro is an introverted, calm Toon with a dream-and-space motif: a crescent-moon face, a sleeping cap, and four arms hidden under a blanket. He is famously camera-shy, dislikes being the center of attention, and Gardenview rules even forbid photographing him, a nod to how camera flashes ruin healthy sleep.
He speaks formally but quietly helps friends through their troubles, especially by giving them good dreams. He is close to his handler Austin Russo and protective of Vee, who looks out for him in return. As the first Main Character that does not require another Toon's Mastery to unlock, he is also one of the easiest mains to pick up.
In lore, Dandy goes silent when you buy Astro, hinting that Astro witnessed the Ichor incident and both are afraid to address it. That quiet tension makes him one of the most story-rich mains alongside the rest of the Main Character roster.
