Floors Guide: Types, Events & Challenge Floors - Dandy's World Wiki
A complete tour of Dandy's World floors: the 12 floor types and 32 variants, Main Character floors, Dyle's challenge, Break Rooms, and all four floor events.
Overview
Floors are where the survival in Dandy's World happens. The game generates a new floor after each one is completed, drawing from 12 floor types split into 32 total variants - including holiday and challenge floors. The deeper you go, the more machines and Twisteds appear, and the more likely a floor event is to trigger. This floors guide maps the whole descent.
Floor Types and When They Appear
Each floor generates a type plus a random variant, with two elevators - one functional, one taped off. Variants range from one to seven per type, and certain types only unlock at specific floor depths. Holiday floors are time-limited and tie into their respective events.
| Floor | Variants | Appears At |
|---|---|---|
| Rainbow Rooms | 7 variants | Floor 1+ |
| Artist | 3 variants | Floor 1+ |
| Astro's Floor (Main) | 1 variant | Floor 6+ |
| Shelly's Floor (Main) | 1 variant | Floor 6+ |
| Easter Floor (Holiday) | 1 variant | Every 5th floor, 50% chance (event) |
| Seasonal Room - Easter | 1 variant | Holiday event |
| Dyle's Floor (Challenge) | 1 variant | Floor 9+ odd, via TIME'S UP Card |
| Break Room (Sub-Floor) | 1 variant | Every 25th floor |
Special Floor Categories
Beyond standard floors, four special categories shape your run. They gate progression, reward risk-taking, or hand out free resources. Knowing when each can appear lets you pre-plan your routing and loadout choices.
Rainbow Rooms
The most common early type with seven variants. Familiar layouts make it ideal for learning routing and island positions early in a run.
Main Character Floors
Astro's and Shelly's floors spawn from Floor 6+. They feature themed layouts, plushies, and unique Toon dialogues tied to the map.
Challenge Floors
Dyle's Floor is the only Challenge Floor. Completing it grants +50 max stamina for the rest of the run - a huge power spike.
Break Room (Sub-Floor)
Spawns after every 25th floor with two preset machines and zero Twisteds. A genuine breather to regroup before pushing deeper.
Dyle's Floor: The Challenge Floor
Dyle's Floor is the first and only Challenge Floor, and it is optional. It spawns only when the TIME'S UP Card is picked on an odd-numbered Floor starting at Floor 9. The reward is enormous - +50 maximum stamina for the rest of the run - but so is the risk.
Vote the TIME'S UP Card on an odd Floor 9+
The card only triggers Dyle's Floor on odd-numbered floors from Floor 9 onward. Coordinate with your team before picking it.
Prepare for 25 machines and 4 Twisteds
The floor always spawns 25 machines and 4 Twisteds: 3 Commons (or a Holiday Twisted replacing one) plus the lethal Twisted Dyle.
Race Twisted Dyle before he speeds up
Finish machines quickly before Twisted Dyle reaches his higher speeds. High Movement Speed, Extraction Speed, and Skill Check stats make this far easier.
Claim your +50 stamina reward
Completing the floor grants +50 maximum stamina for the remainder of the run - a massive survivability boost for deeper floors.
Floor Events and Their Chances
Floor Events alter the current floor's gameplay by changing stats, vision, or Twisted behavior. Their chance starts at 5% on Floor 3 and rises by about 2% every two floors, capping at 30% on Floor 16. Up to two events can occur at once.
| Event | Effect | Reduced By |
|---|---|---|
| Blackout | Floor goes dark; small light radius around Toons | Electrician or Sparkplug Card |
| Ichor Leak | Puddles cause Illness III and Slow I | Piping Tape Card |
| Spring Fever (Easter) | Energized II and Tired II on Toons; Dazed II on Twisteds | Air Freshener Card |
| Iced Over (Christmas) | Slippery floors for Toons; +15% movement speed | Frost Shield Card |
Twisted Population & Machine Scaling
As you descend, both Twisteds and machines increase in number. Twisteds start at two and cap at eight, or six on a solo run. Machines cap at 20 on normal floors (25 on Dyle's). Bigger teams scale faster; smaller teams scale slower.
Team Size Matters
Machine and Twisted count progresses faster with bigger teams and slower with smaller ones. Solo play stays lighter until around Floor 18 to 20.
Twisted Cap
Max Twisteds is eight in multiplayer or six when only one player is alive. Twisteds never vanish if players leave or die mid-floor.
Machine Cap
Normal floors cap at 20 machines. Dyle's Floor is the exception, always spawning 25 regardless of player count or floor depth.
Rarity Shifts
From Floor 5, Rare and Main Character Twisteds gain weight. Commons and Uncommons stay flat, so deep floors favor tougher threats.
Blackout and Ichor Leak Deep Dive
Blackout plunges the floor into darkness, leaving only a small light circle and cone around each Toon. Light-emitting Toons like Brightney, Vee, Astro, Connie, Rudie, and Eclipse get a larger radius, and the Spare Bulb Trinket or Sparkplug Card also help. Twisted Brightney can reroll a Blackout onto her floor.
Ichor Leak spawns puddles that inflict Illness III, shrinking your skill-check zone by 50%, plus Slow I cutting movement speed. Blot, Connie, Flutter, Ribecca, and Soulvester are immune for lore reasons - Connie and Flutter float, Blot is ink, Ribecca's passive negates it, and Soulvester's armor protects him.
Both events can stack, though the odds are slim. For full survival tactics during these events, pair this guide with the how to survive guide and the all Twisteds reference.
Floor Routing Tips for Deep Runs
Smart routing is what carries a team past Floor 20. These habits reward players who treat each floor type as a puzzle with known choke points, islands, and machine clusters.
- Learn island positions in Rainbow Rooms early - they recur and save you in chases.
- Pre-fill the machine nearest the elevator to 90-95% for a fast Panic Mode escape.
- Save escape items for Main Character floors where threats spike.
- On Dyle's Floor, prioritize speed and extraction stats over pure survival gear.
- Use the Break Room every 25 floors to reset mentally and top up your plan.
- Track Twisted Brightney - she can trigger a Blackout on her floor unexpectedly.
